Dear Lou:

We received a message from Nettie’s[1] husband[2] to-day. He is at Berkeley safe. He buried the office books opposite Hiberning Bank and packed trunks up the hill two blocks and threw them over the fence in front of Fairmont Hotel then fled for his life. We look for him home to-night.

With Love
