New Years 1924[1] – Lela[2] Elgin with Lou[3]. Dodo[4] up to the house to see to fire and look after candy. Robert[5] & Joe[6] went up in aftern. All came back to Bessies[7] for 6 P.M. Goose dinner. Lela also got back. Lela, children[8] & I all went home[9] later. Joe took us.

From: Nancy Brown, Chicago, IL

This letter was Nancy’s first letter of the New Year. She is sending $5.00 and the girls are sending $5.00 of Nancy Keith money. Writes about the candy business; Edna has ordered 15 pounds in the last two and a half weeks.
