Nancy Brown’s diary entries from July 12 – 17, 1923

Jul 12 – Cleaning house. Sygna Youngs[?] helped ½ day. Will and Lizzie to Mich to day. Martha cant work at until she gets birth certificate.

Jul 13 – I went don town got a hat light and dark brown, pattern for a dress, other small articles. Carrie, Bess & Lela making candy. Willard and LaVern came for the girls. Helen went home with Bess.

Jul 14 – Plesant. Miss Edith and Miss Hedvig home to day from their vacation. Took great lakes trip, one day at Niagria falls, a grand vacation.

Jul 15 – Cool and plesant. Mrs Davis spent day here. Ray at Camp Custer. His wife is east.

Jul 16 – Cool. I have sewed all day. Lela down town. Mrs Tannahill and Blanche her this evening. Told us how bad Claude is, he is home from Elgin. Signa Youngs 30 to day.

Jul 17 – Plesant. Lela and Bess went to Elgin this A.M. Took a nice lunch, will have dinner with Lou. He seemed very much better. Wants to come home.
